The Canon RF 20mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens is ideal for a wide variety of still applications, from landscape to street photography. With an impressive f/1.4 maximum aperture, you have enhanced control over depth of field, working in low light conditions.
In terms of the optical design, ultra-low dispersion (UD) and Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics (BR) elements reduce chromatic aberrations for impressive clarity and colour accuracy. A special lens coating assists in reducing flare and ghosting for improved contrast.
This lens also excels in close-up photography due to the close 20cm minimum focusing distance and 0.19x maximum magnification.

Optimized for Video
You will find it easier to create dynamic scenes with motion due to the ultra-wide field of view and close-focusing distance. Manual aperture ring with a de-click switch to make smooth, silent iris pulls.
Focus breathing is well controlled to maintain a constant field of view when tracking focus, and the linear focus motor allows for intuitive manual focus control.

VCM and Nano USM Autofocus
The Canon RF 20mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens features a Nano Ultrasonic Motor (USM) for controlling the floating focusing system, then the Voice Coil Motor (VCM) adjust focusing. Together, these deliver fast, accurate and silent focusing performance needed for both video and still applications.
The floating focus design further assists in maintaining consistent high-quality imagery throughout the focusing range.

Design Details
With this lens being an ultra-wide 20mm f/1.4, it still maintains a relatively compact and lightweight design. This design is also matched to the other hybrid lenses in Canon's lineup, along with the same 67mm front filter thread.
You will also find an included filter holder to the rear of the lens accepting pre-cut gel filters, for when more than one filter is needed, or a single one is to be used for extended times.
